Homefront 1945 / Fury

If you haven't yet seen Brad Pitt in the new blockbuster film Fury, or even if you have, join us for Homefront 1945 at the Rio Theater on November 8 at 6pm for a very special Veteran's Day weekend dinner and a movie. You can RSVP on Facebook.

Prior to the movie, we'll transport you to April 1945, featuring swing music from the 1940’s, a modern take on wartime foods, actual newsreels from April 1945, a diverse discussion from experts and first hand accounts of life on the Northern California home front, and chances to share your own family stories and photos from the time. We’ll also have on display and will be raffling off reproductions of maps, war bonds posters, and digitally restored WWII films from the National Archives collection, as well as official Fury movie posters courtesy of Sony Pictures.

Thanks to support from the US National ArchivesHistorypinCalifornia Historical Society, and the Russian River Historical Society, movie tickets are only $8 and a $15 dinner and cash bar. WWII period attire is encouraged! Pre-sales information coming soon.
